So, if your like me and couldn't wait for tonight (because YTV is a douche ), then you've probably seen screenshots of the finale.

Yeah, the book wasn't wrong nor did I ever really think this was a genius ploy set up by Bryke to fool us. The interview said it all...okay, so I hoped a little when I found out the author of this book had a tendancy to have a different ending than the actual thing, but at the time I told myself, "Kouen, you're a Zutarian, and no matter how much reality shows you otherwise, something is going to come along and kick you in the ass, so leave it as it is." You know that whole "Yay we have a chance" and then maybe one or two days later we're kicked back down by something else? Why would this be any different...and it wasn't.

I'll just say I've never been in a fandom with so many letdowns. I felt like I was on a yo-yo half the time not knowing what to believe what people said or what came out of Mike and Bryan's mouths. You hope and then your crushed and its been constant. Season 3 drove me nuts because of this with an interview here and and a scene from the show there.

When it comes down to it, it was the finale trailer that did it for me. I can bet you anything I or any other Zutarian wouldn't be feeling as much pain as we are if it wasn't for that misleading, ship-baiting piece of shit. By then, many of us had resolved ourselves to the possibility that our ship wasn't going to happen, because I sure had. It was uncalled for and not fair to give hope to people when you never had any intention to do it in the first place. It hurts that Mike and Bryan are not mature enough to even think about the consequences of what they were doing. It screams a lack of respect and I can't stand people like that.

Yeah, we're just their fans and they don't owe us anything *eyes are certain someone*, but still be a little thoughtful for the reason why the show made it to the end of its production. Not many American cartoons make it that far. Be grateful that we loved it so much. By the way, I'm talking about the avatar fans, not the zutara shippers if anyone is rolling their eyes at this and misinterepting.

Alright to my fellow Zutarians. I'm no Greenifyme, or MizSweet, or Trishna87, but I'm still going to say this.
I know it hurts like a bitch now, but I promise you, in about a week, you're really not going to care anymore. I've been in many shipping fandoms before and my ship has not happened in some of those either. You win some, you lose some, fact of life in the land of fantasy animation. You're not always going to be right.

Despite all that, listen to me right now, YOU ARE GOING TO BE OK. It is not the end of the world.

So I plead, nay, beg you to hold in your screams of anger and resentment. Don't comment on things that are Kataang, Maiko, or go into a forum and curse Mike and Bryan for all your worth. Don't cry and moan that you wasted 3 years of your life. You are going to make yourselves look like dumbasses and will feel like one a day later. It wasn't a waste of time, just search Zutara on here and look at all the fanart, fanfics, and general dedication to this ship. REMEMBER ZUTARA WEEK. We enjoyed making all that and we still will. Its hard to think that now, but we'll love it all over again.

Fanon lasts longer than canon. When Maikoians and Kataangers get tired of their canon, they'll disappear due to boredom. We won't because we've always worked off our imaginations anyway, so we can deal. You will appreciate it more this way.

Its ok to be mad. We're justified, honestly, but be mad and all pissed off privately. Talk to other Zutara fans. I'll have a chat up like I always do after the finale has aired.

The truth is, they can't make everyone happy. They make it ambiguous, all shippers will be pissed. Make it Zutara, Maiko and Kataang fans will be pissed. Make it Kataang and Maiko, Zutara fans are pissed. They can't win, no matter what. Bottomline is, they shouldn't have made their "everyone will be happy with the finale" promise because I knew no way in hell they were going to be able to deliver it.

And let's be fair guys, at least Mike and Bryan tried to give us something near the end. They didn't have to do The Southern Raiders or Zuko/Katara alone the entire finale. I know it hurts more to have those, but they wanted to give us something, so I love them for trying. They wanted us to enjoy those and I honestly feel that this was their intention; to give us SOMETHING but whatever enjoyment we were suppose to get out of it was ruined by that book. Unfortunate, I know, but dems the breaks.

So, come in and chat tonight Zutarians. Rant and rave together because we will all need a shoulder to cry on afterwards.

Congrats Maiko and Kataang fans. I hope they did it justice.
